Additional Coverage

Flood Insurance
Flood insurance is necessary for those who live in flood prone areas. Because damages caused by floods are specifically excluded from most homeowners policies, it's necessary to have a separate flood insurance policy in order to be covered.  Additionally, the National Flood Insurace Act of 1994 requires some property owners to have flood insurance if the property is located within a flood hazard area.

Valuable Property Insurance
Homeowners, renters and/or flood insurance policies provide protection for specific assets. If you have a significant investment in art, jewelry, firearms or other collectibles, you should review your policy to insure that you have adequate coverage.
Additional coverage for specific valuables is typically added to your main insurance policy in the form of a Property Floater. In most cases additional protection for these special items is remarkably affordable. This coverage is normally written by the same carrier that provides your homeowners or renters insurance.

Excess Liability Insurance
Often referred to as an umbrella policy, excess liability insurance provides the additional protection you need in case a judgment against you exceeds the liability limits of your existing auto or homeowners policy. Excess liability coverage increases your personal liability limits by adding protection to your current auto, boat and/or homeowners policies. This coverage is normally written by the same carrier that provides your auto or homeowners insurance, but can also be purchased as a stand-alone policy.
